‘Ode To Bali’ – ‘SUMMER WILDLING’ Dress

    ,
'Ode to Bali' It is with so much Gratitude to Bali that I am able to offer this dress. This dress for me carries the essence of the beauty, free spirit and loving vibration of Bali and the Balinese people. Aptly, I have titled it the 'Summer Wildling' Dress. The open back is the main feature of this summer dress and the perfect combination of sexiness and sweetness. The design is a traditional Balinese design, featuring the flowers of the Balinese daily offerings - the making and giving of the 'banten'. It is a beautiful, repetitive and selfless act by the Balinese and their unique form of Hinduism. Part meditation, part short escape the buzzing world, It is offered 3 times daily as a gift of gratitude to the maker, and supplication to the lower spirits that they do not disturb the living. We make this dress tradionally, using 'slow fashion' techniques with real life humans. To make the material for this kimono we use 7 separate screens, with each color screened by hand until whallah!! ..we eventually get this beautiful combination of print and color! Expect some minor imperfections in the print which confirms the handmade process of this beautiful material. We proudly produce our clothing under fair-trade working conditions. :) Sizing: XS: size 8-10 Australian S: size 10-14 Australian M: size 12-14 Australian Model in musk dress is a AUSTRALIAN size 6-8 and is 163 cm and wears an XS. Model in Green Dress is a AUSTRALIAN size 8-10 and is 168cm and wears an XS (although for the shoot she wore an XS she would probably purchase a size small S ) Please scroll down to read more information about this dress.

This dress for me carries the essence of the beauty, free spirit and loving vibration of Bali and the Balinese people. Aptly, I have titled it the 'Omswastiastu' Dress. 'Omswastiastu' is a traditional Balinese greeting and blessing which means when spoken to another 'Oh God, I hope all goodness, safety, happiness and prosperity comes to you from all directions'. I feel this is what Bali has done for me and so I wish the same blessing onto you, the wearer. The design is a traditional Balinese design, featuring the flowers of the Balinese daily offerings - the making and giving of the 'banten'. It is a beautiful, repetitive and selfless act by the Balinese and their unique form of Hinduism. We proudly produce our clothing under fair-trade working conditions. :) Sizing: XS/S: size 8-10 Australian S/M: size 10-14 Australian First pictured model is a size 8 and is 172 cm and wears a XS/S. Second pictured model is a size 12-14 and wears a S/M. PLease note: the elastic band around this dress is made deliberately tight to assist it to stay in place, and designed to sit under breast area on the rib cage, rather than the waist. If you feel its too tight, its a simple adjustment to make it looser for a seamstress or tailor. Please scroll down to read more information about this dress.
